The internationally acclaimed Mária Budácová will give a recital on Grace Anglican Church Sutton’s new Johannus organ on July 23 at 5.30 p.m.
Mária graduated in organ studies in Slovakia, then attended the Schulich Organ School at McGill in Montreal where she obtained her doctorate. She has won many prestigious awards and scholarships and regularly performs in Slovakia, Canada and the USA. She currently holds a position as organist and choir director in Saint-Irénée-de- Lyon, Montréal.
This is the first of the three organ recitals in support of the Afghan Refugee Sponsorship program and will demonstrate the amazing beauty and versatility of the Dutch Johannus Ecclesia digital organ. The other two summer recitals will be by Maria Gajhaj on August 20 and Pierre Cabana on September 17.
